A few years ago I was fortunate enough to find my purpose. Now, I’m working hard to help other women find theirs. Recently, I had the opportunity to interview four women who have also gone through the process of finding themselves. Check out the stories of how each one is pursuing her purpose (and the sometimes rocky road that got her there).

What is your purpose?

To guide others in elevating their self-awareness while creating a consciously chosen and purposeful life. It is amazing what can happen in your life when you become more self-aware. If you’re looking for more clarity, wisdom, and balance, then tapping into yourself is the best way to succeed!

How long ago did you find your purpose?

I’ve been on the journey of discovery and collection of the tools I use for ten years. It wasn’t until 2 years ago that I realized I am doing the work I LOVE. I can’t imagine doing anything else!

Tell us how you went about finding your purpose.

I always knew that I was meant to do something important in life, something that would be of benefit to everyone around the world. It was a still, small voice that whispered to me to keep seeking answers. For a long time, I ignored the voice because I was more focused on making money (at the time I believed that was how I’d be able to live a life I loved). That felt very empty to me, however; fun at times for sure, but I wasn’t feeling fulfilled. My wake-up calls were many, mostly through pain and suffering of some type - an emotionally challenging previous marriage, as well as being diagnosed with a rare and serious illness being two that created a huge impact. Those combined became the last straw and what made me realize things had to change.

What roadblocks/challenges did you run into when you were trying to find your purpose?

Not knowing where it would all lead and trusting the process was the most challenging. Luckily being self-aware wasn’t a foreign concept to me. I had a lot of experiences early on in life that had prepared me well. I kept trusting my heart/intuition even though I was never sure where things would lead. I tried many different things and to someone on the outside I’m certain it looked to be a disjointed path, but I kept focusing on the present and trusting my choices. Looking back now, it is easy for me to connect the dots and what once appeared to be a crazy, wildly erratic road, now reveals a clear connection of dots in a line that has led me to exactly where I am now, where I am meant to be.

How are you currently pursuing your purpose?

I am doing work that fulfills me. As a Conscious Leadership & Relationship Coach, I leverage over 20 years in relationship-based sales, communication, and psychology to empower my clients to heighten self-awareness and innate skills so you can create work and personal lives that are resilient, balanced, and successful! I also support leaders and their teams to achieve greater results using cutting-edge techniques to lead with focus, heightened self-awareness, and increased connection, especially in challenging times.

What advice would you give a woman who wants to find and pursue her purpose but is feeling overwhelmed and doesn't have much time?

Get quiet, learn to get in touch with your body wisdom, and in the process, you’ll raise your awareness of self. Trust the guidance you receive even if it doesn’t make sense logically or to other people. Only YOU know what is best/right for you!

Anything else you wish to share with women who are just beginning to think there's more to life than what they're experiencing at the moment.

I wrote and published a book called “Why Aren’t You Listening to Me?” (available online through Barnes & Noble and Amazon) which helps readers get in better relationships with themselves and others. In it, there are many tools as well as a technique I developed to support your journey. You can also receive help/support through a trained and certified coach that specializes in transformation, transition, and relationships.

What is your purpose?

To support other mothers in freeing themselves from the mental load of feeding their families.

Tell us how you went about finding your purpose.

I just worked in and explored my business and personal development until I really felt like I reached a point where I felt aligned.

What roadblocks/challenges did you run into when you were trying to find your purpose?

SOOO many! Inertia was a really big one for me in doing the things that were working even if they weren't the things I wanted to be doing. Not knowing the next step and constantly feeling like I was making it up as I went along was challenging.

How are you currently pursuing your purpose?

I’m currently working with one on one clients with yearly goals of creating a bigger avenue for reaching a grander audience.

What is your purpose?

Helping moms declutter so they have more time and energy to focus on the people inside their home, not the stuff.

How long ago did you find your purpose?

About two years ago.

Tell us how you went about finding your purpose.

In 2013 we moved our family from Alaska to Florida with only one suitcase per person. I found freedom and clarity in my motherhood by no longer being burdened by the stuff in my home. I had a couple more babies and my friends in my due date groups were struggling with their homes like I used to. I saw an opportunity to help them and started offering free decluttering challenges for them inside my own Facebook group and Motherhood Simplified was born!

What roadblocks/challenges did you run into when you were trying to find your purpose?

For several years before this, I was trying out several different things, seeking my purpose - blogs, network marketing, working with my husband, teaching, etc... so many things. It was exhausting and discouraging and I felt like I’d never find my “thing”.

How are you currently pursuing your purpose?

I lead a community of moms on a mission to declutter. I create a space where they can give and receive support, ideas, and camaraderie.

What is your purpose?

My purpose is to make the world a better place. Right now, that is through inspiring mothers to help them be more full and embrace motherhood with all its imperfections.

How long ago did you find your purpose?

Gosh, I have known for a long time that I wanted to change the world in some way. It was when I became a mom, seven years ago, that I started to realize the impact I could make for other mothers and when I began to tiptoe into that field.

Tell us how you went about finding your purpose.

I started to get in tune with myself, figured out what I was good at, and then, slowly, slowly started peeling back the layers preventing me from actually going forward with that purpose in a big way. In short, it's been a lot of self-development.

What roadblocks/challenges did you run into when you were trying to find your purpose?

It's really an ongoing struggle. My life's purpose may be constant, but the way I achieve it changes depending on the needs and flow of everything around me. Another huge challenge was self-doubt.

What advice would you give a woman who wants to find and pursue her purpose but is feeling overwhelmed and doesn't have much time?

Get in touch with yourself, whether through your thoughts and sending yourself a text once a day or once a week, or through journaling every night. Take a few minutes to tune into yourself consistently - it doesn't have to take long.

Anything else you wish to share with women who are just beginning to think there's more to life than what they're experiencing at the moment.
